Bradford Kaims lecture at the AONB forum

Graeme Young is doing a lecture on this summer’s excavation at Bradford Kaims as part of the Northumberland Coast AONB Forum on Thursday the 4th of December 2014. It’s short notice but there are still tickets available for the day, which is being held at the Castle Hotel in Bamburgh (7 Front Street. NE69 7BW).

Free Public Lectures in Belford this Season

This summer during our excavation, which begins 2nd of June and continues to 27th July 2014, we are again going to arrange weekly evening lectures. They will be available free to students and members of the public, but if anyone attending wishes to donate a little towards the venue cost, it will be gratefully received.

The venue is at the Bell View Centre, 33 West Street, Belford, Northumberland, NE70 7QB

Lectures will be at 7:00 pm each Tuesday evening.

The list of the first seven lectures should be below. We will probably arrange a summary of the season’s results during our final week, which begins 21st July.

PUBLIC LECTURE: Kristian Pedersen, The Bradford Kaimes Project

Kristian Pedersen from the University of Edinburgh will be giving a lecture on the Bradford Kaimes Project, an investigation of a wetland area of the Bamburgh environs. To find out more about why and how Kristian and the BRP are digging there, and to learn about some of the preliminary findings of the project, come along to the BRP’s next Public Lecture on Monday 28th June 2010, from 7pm at the Pavilion in Bamburgh Village. The event is free of charge and open to all.

PUBLIC LECTURE: Graeme Young, The Archaeology of Bamburgh Castle

BRP Archaeology Director Graeme Young will be dishing the latest dirt on the ongoing excavations at Bamburgh Castle in a public lecture that will take place on Wednesday 16th June at the Pavilion in Bamburgh Village.
