A quick Kaims update

Now that the flood waters have receded from Trench 6 at the Kaims site, we have been making excellent progress. A much more detailed blog entry and a video will follow, but here is a quick snap shot of the new look site.

The most obvious omission is the that the stone ‘hearth’ has now been lifted. Interestingly it can be fitted into a stratigraphic sequence formed by what we now know to be a series of burnt mounds; not a single one. This is the most substantial breakthrough regarding our understanding of the site. A more detailed description of our current thinking will be posted later, once Paul and his team have had a chance to write an update.
